The four pillars

If you do not know your birth time, a responsible reading should say so clearly. Some chart details can still be explored, but the missing hour creates uncertainty rather than a reason to invent precision.
Five Elements in plain English
Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth are the Five Elements used in BaZi language. They describe relationships, pace, preferences, and ways of responding to change—not substances inside your body or fixed personality labels. The Five Elements are language for reflecting on patterns; they are not literal substances, diagnoses, or treatments.
A useful reading might turn an element pattern into a practical prompt: Where could you set a clearer boundary? Which routine is sustainable? What kind of support do you need before taking on more? Your lived evidence remains more important than any label.
Ten-year life cycles
BaZi also uses broader 10-year cycles as a timing lens. These cycles can help frame a period for preparation, review, or a shift in priorities. They do not guarantee a promotion, a relationship, a windfall, or any other specific event.
